Its god to know!

Many people now a days doesn't give value to the things that they have right now. In short, hindi tayo nakukuntento kung anong meron tayo. Well,I would say that, "ganun din ako,oo ganun din ako." But its normal behavior of our youth today, but of course the good things there is that we have to overcome those instinct and used that as a stepping stone to meet our goal in life.
Before I went to my work, I saw a little boy on the street asking for a help. That boy has no legs. As in no legs talaga.....then I suddenly posed for a while just to look at him. Then something remind me that, maswerte pa pala ako, even though sometimes I felt like so slow d b?
Maswerte pa din tayo kasenag aaral pa din tayo, at higit sa lahat, may mga taong anjan para sa'tin para mahalin tayo ta alagaan(hm...emo?)pero totoo, come to think of it.
If you would going to ask me how lucky I am,well I'm a lucky person because of many blessings that I have right. That's why I always try to blog those good things so that people may read this blog to grow their faith. Faith to their Self and love one's and above all, faith to Almighty. Ikaw, gaano ka kaswerte?Share it to me.....Thanks

Girls need to realize

Whew! This is my latest story. It's my favorite because... Haha! It's a secret. If you know the real me, you'll realize why I like this story so much!

February 5, 5:20 pm

He has been waiting for this day. He was so excited. He finished his work early and went to the flower shop to pick up all his orders. Then he went home to arrange all the flowers. After two hours of preparation, everything is ready.

She arrived at past eight. She went straight at the rooftop of his condominium for that's what he has told her. She was astonished with what she saw.

The rooftop was filled with flowers, hundreds of them. At the center were two chairs and a table. It was a candlelit dinner he has prepared for them. Beef stew and champagne was the menu for the night. At the right side of the table was a piano. On the other side was a painting.

"Happy 2nd anniversary Gel!" he greeted her.

He handed her a bouquet. It was her favorite, china pink roses. He gave her a kiss in the cheeks. Then he asked her to stand in front of the painting as he removed the cloth covering it. It was a beautiful landscape - a couple, cuddling to each other, sitting under a tree while watching the sun as it fades down into the horizon.

"Did you like it?" he asked.
"Yeah! Thanks, Jhay."
"Oh, wait. There's more."

He went to the piano and she followed him.

"This one is for you."

He started playing the piano. It was such a sweet melody. He composed it all by himself. He sang because he knew that it would make her happy even though he didn't have a good voice. She just smiled while listening to him.

"You're so sweet. Is that a new song?" she asked.
"Yeah. Its title is 'Wish'. I made it for you so that whenever you're sad or lonely, just sing it and then you'll remember me and you will be happy."

He assisted her as she sat down. He opened the champagne and poured it on the glasses. They started eating dinner.

"Uhmmm..."
"What is it? Speak. Don't drag." she said.
"Yeah. Sorry."
"What now?"

He held her hand. He looked at her in the eyes.
"There's something really important that I want to tell you. But before that, I want you to know that I'm very thankful to have you. Thanks for sharing with me two years of your life. I love you Gel!"

She slowly pulled her hand away from his and bowed down.

"Gel? Is something wrong?"
"I have a question..." she answered slowly.
"What is it?"
"The song that you played, why is it entitled 'Wish'?"
"Huh? Why? Uhmmm, because like what the song says, I'm wishing for your happiness. I want you to be happy and hopefully I am the one who can make you happy."
"Really? You want me to be happy?"
"Yeah. I'm willing to do everything just to make you happy."

She took a deep breath.

"I wish to be happy..."
"I know. Aren't you happy at the moment? Tell me what you want and I'll..."
"Jhay!" she replied in a high tone.

There was silence. All they can hear was the whisper of the cold night wind.

"I wish... I wish to be happy... My happiness is my... my freedom... I want... I want my... freedom..." she said as tears started to run through her cheeks.
"WHAT?!"

He was shocked. It was something that he didn't expect to hear from her especially at this very special day.

"But Gel, why? I know we're having a hard time the past three months but I'm trying to adjust. We can fix this and everything will be fine. I know we can do this..."
"Three months is too long. I'm sorry Jhay..."
"Gel, don't do this..."
"Jhay, please understand..."
"Gel, we have been together for two years, two years of good times and hardships. We can make it. Please..."
"This time, it is different..."

She stood up. She can't stop her tears. She knew that her decision will be too hard for them, for him. She tried to walk away but his right hand grabbed hers while the other one grasped his chest.

"It hurts, it hurts so much..."
"I know. It hurts me too but I have to do this..."
He slowly released her hand. She ran away while wiping her tears. He fell down into his knees while still holding his chest. Tears started to come out from his eyes. He was stunned. He can't move. His vision became blurry. Suddenly, everything became dark for him...

February 6, 11:29 am

She has been awake all night, wondering if she really did the right thing. Tears didn't stop from flowing. It was morning when she fell asleep.

RING!!! RING!!! RING!!!

She didn't answer the call. She looked at her cellphone. It says 15 missed calls. She just dropped it and went back to bed.

RING!!! RING!!! RING!!!

"Hello?"

A familiar voice was speaking at the other end of the line.

"WHAT?!"

She took a cab. It took her half an hour to reach the hospital. She went straight in the intensive care unit. His mom was there, standing, crying. She gave her a hug.

"How's he?" she asked.
"He's... he's on a... standstill..."
"I never knew that he has this kind of sickness..."
"He didn't tell you?"
"No."
"He went to me yesterday morning and he told me he will finally tell it to you."

She had a flashback and remembered his words, his words that there was something important that he wanted to say.

"Ever since he was a kid, he has a weak heart. My husband and I used to bring him to the doctor. But my husband passed away five years ago. After that, he stopped his treatment. He went at school in the morning and worked at night. He wanted to help me. He wanted to work so that he can send his siblings to school. From that moment, I haven't seen his smile..." his mom narrated.

She looked at him through the glass. Tears started to come out.

"That's until he met you. I remembered that day. He went home happily and said to me 'Guess what mom? I met a girl. She was so beautiful and kind. She is really nice.' That was his first smile since his father died. He will always tell me every date that you two had. He became jolly again. I said to myself that finally, someone has injected a new life at him..."

She wiped her tears. His mom was also in teary eyes.

"But he had chest pains recently. Last week he went to the doctor and he had a test. And the results came out and the doctor said that the next attack will be fatal and might be his last. I didn't expect it to come so sudden..."
"I'm... I'm... I'm so sorry..." she whispered.

Tears continued to burst out of her eyes. His mom gave her a tap in the back.

"Go inside and see him. He needs you."

She walked slowly going inside his room. She tried to hold her tears. She sat beside him and held his hand.

"I'm ... I'm... sorry... Jhay. I... didn't mean... I didn't mean to do it. I... love you... so much that I want... to let go... of you... I want you... to be happy... because it feels... it feels like I'm just... I'm just taking you... taking you for granted... that's why..."

She kept on crying. She couldn't stop it.

"I'm so sorry... I love you Jhay..."

She gave him a kiss on the cheeks.

Tears started to flow out of his eyes.

She was shocked with what she saw. She held his hand tightly.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

Flat line.

And a loud cry was heard from his room...

February 13, 9:30 am

She didn't go to school. Instead, she went to his grave. She brought with her a piece of paper. It was a song lyrics. The song lyrics which he has composed for her. She read it on her mind. Then, she started to sing. Tears fell. She stopped.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry Jhay..." she uttered.

She sat beside his grave all day. It was dark when she decided to go home.

From a distance, someone was watching.

February 15, 10:08 am

"Good morning Jhay! Look, I have something for you."

She placed a bouquet on top of his grave. It was a bouquet of china pink roses.

"These are my favorites, remember? Hmmm. Guess what? I'm going to stay here with you again!"

She brought out a picture. It was their picture, their last picture. He was sitting on a chair while she was on his back and hugging him tightly.

And there were droplets. She looked up. Then the rain suddenly fell. She hugged their picture and dropped on her knees. A guy stood beside her. He was holding an umbrella.

"Are you okay?" he said.
"No, but thanks anyway."
"I've been watching you for three days. You always visit this grave. It seems he's very important to you. Who is he, if you don't mind?"
"My ex-boy... No. My boyfriend..."
"Oh..."
"He died a week ago."
"I'm sorry."

The rain poured hard. He stayed there with her until the rain stopped.

February 17, 5:16 pm

"She's here again." he said to himself.

He went near her. She didn't notice him.

"Hi." he said.
"Oh. It's you again."
"Yeah. By the way, I forgot to introduce myself before. I'm Art. And you are?" he offered his hand.
"Gel." she shook his hand.

He sat beside her.

"Thanks." she uttered.
"For what?"
"For staying with me the other day."
"Oh. It's nothing."
"Can I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
"Why did you stay?"
"Why?"
"Yeah."
"Hmmm. Because... I just want to." he answered.
"You just want to? Stay with me?"
"Yeah."
"But you don't know me..."

There was silence. He just looked up in the sky. She stared at him.

"Let us just say that I hate seeing a crying girl, whether I know her or not..." he said.
"You... You remind me of him..."
"Who?"
"Him." she pointed at his tombstone.
"Really?"

She started talking about her ex-boyfriend: how she met him, how he courted her, how they celebrated every anniversary that they had, how they passed all the problems that came, and how she lose him. They just sat there and talked to each other.

February 20, 4:12 pm

They agreed to have a picnic beside her ex-boyfriend's grave. He brought a lot of snacks for her. They began to eat.

"Have you ever lost someone so important to you?" she asked.
"Like a girlfriend?"
"Uhmmm... Yeah..."
"Yeah. Just a few weeks ago."
"Oh. I'm sorry. What happened?"
"She felt that she doesn't have her own freedom with me."
"Own freedom?"
"I always wanted to be with her, but she felt like I'm being too possessive with her. It's like I'm choking her and because of that, we always argue. I tried my best to fix the problem, to adjust to her demands, but I guess it was too late..."
"Oh." she sighed.
"Why?"
"I also felt that way with him before..."
"Ah. Did you ask him why he is like that?"
"No."
"You should have..."
"Why?"
"So that maybe, you will be able to understand him."

She bowed down.

"That was my problem with her. She never asked. She just assumes that everything is fine whenever she sees me smile. She just thought that I'm being selfish and that I'm preventing her from being happy."

He took a sip from his juice.

"It's not like he is preventing me to be happy or he is choking me, but you know, because he is always too close, it feels like I'm just taking him for granted..." she said.

"Oh..."

February 24, 10:17 am

He accompanied her going to the church. She offered a mass and candles for the soul of her ex-boyfriend. She prayed for his safe journey.

March 2, 2:15 am

He called her to check if she's fine. They had been on the telephone for six straight hours. It was morning when they decided to hang up.

March 10, 7:31 pm

It was her finals week. He helped her in studying all of her lessons. They stayed at a coffee shop. She even fell asleep while reading her notes. He watched her as she had her nap.

March 21, 12:04 pm

He fetched her after her graduation practice. They had lunch and it was his treat.

March 31, 8:22 am

It was her graduation day. She invited him to watch. He looked at her as she went to the stage to get her diploma. After the ceremony, she went to see him.

"Congratulations Gel!"
"Thanks for coming Art! Thanks."

He hugged her tightly. She felt something different. It reminded her of him, her ex-boyfriend.

They had a celebration afterwards.

April 7, 9:15 pm

They went to the mall to watch a movie. It was a Robert de Niro film. They brought a big pop corn. It was late when the movie ended. He took her home.

April 15, 6:15 pm

Both of them are basketball fanatics so they decided to watch a game. They sat at the ringside. Their favorite team won the game. She even had a chance to have an autograph and a picture with the team's star player.

April 28, 4:07 pm

They both agreed to go to Tagaytay. It was a perfect place for summer. It was cold there. They went on horseback riding and had a picnic after. They also had some shopping for themselves.

She was comfortable being with him. She felt like she has known him for a long time. She really enjoyed his company.

After shopping, they dropped by in a restaurant. It was located near the edge of the mountain. It has a perfect view. They can see the volcano in the middle of the lake though it is foggy. The wind was cold. They had their dinner. Then, they went to the terrace to view the scenery.

"Why are you doing all these things to me?" she asked.
"Huh?"
"Ever since the day I met you, you just stayed by my side. You always accompany me. Why are you like that?"
"Why? I told you before. I just want to."
"You just want to? Again?"
"Yeah. I know you've been depressed ever since he left. I just want to make you feel that you're not alone, that I'm always here for you. Always..."

There was silence.

"Do... do you... like me?"
"You've got beauty and brains. What's not to like about you?"
"Do you... love... me...?"

He didn't answer. He became quiet.

"I'm sorry for asking something like that."
"I'm nodding."
"What?"
"I said I'm nodding."
She looked at him.

"But, you know that I really love my boyfriend. I love Jhay so much. I still do."
"I know. It's okay. It doesn't matter. I'll still stay here for you."
"But, you know I can't repay all of your efforts and your feelings..."
"I understand. You know, if there is one important thing that I must tell you, it would be 'I love you', not 'Please love me too'."
"Oh... But what if I'm just using you to forget him...?"
"It's okay. If it is you, I won't be hurt..."

May 6, 10:18 pm

He invited her to have a cup of coffee. She went to the coffee shop and saw him sitting in a corner. She sat down in front of him. He looked at her and smiled.

She felt something. She felt that she's starting to like him. No, what she really felt was that she loved him for such a long time. But she kept on denying it. She wanted to keep all of her feelings for him, her ex-boyfriend.

"You said you wanted to tell me something, what is it?"
"Uhmmm... you still don't recognize me?
"Recognize you?"
"Uhmmm. Just a question, what if Jhay is still alive?"

She was shocked.

“Where is he?”
“Wait!”
“Where is he?! Come on! Tell me!” she said on a high tone.
“He is… still alive. And he is here… right in… front of you…”
“WHAT?!”
“It is me Jhay, don’t you recognize me?”
“Stop it Art!”
“But it is the truth!”
“I said stop it! Shut up! Stop making fun of me! And stop making fun of Jhay!”

She stood up and gave him a hard slap on the cheeks. He was stunned with what she did. Everyone was looking at them.

She walked away as she wiped her eyes.

May 15, 11:13 pm

She was still wondering why he did it to her. She thought that she found someone who will stay by her side, but…

It was late when she arrived home. In her doorsteps, there was a note. She opened it.

Gel,

I want to talk to you tomorrow. Remember the rooftop? I’ll see you there. Please come.

Art

May 16, 11:28 pm

It was late. He was wondering if she will ever come to see him.

She gave it a thought the whole day. She kept on thinking whether she will see him or not. Finally, she made a decision. She went straight at the rooftop. She was astonished with what she saw.

“Is this a dream?”

The rooftop was filled with flowers, hundreds of them. At the center were two chairs and a table. It was a candlelit dinner he has prepared for them. At the right side of the table was a piano. On the other side was a painting.

“Hi Gel.”
“Why… why do keep on doing this to me?”
“Gel, please listen first. I’ll explain everything.”

He asked her to stand in front of the painting as he removed the cloth covering it.

“That painting, why do you have it?”
“When I was a kid, I had a weak heart. I’m not from a rich family that’s why my parents worked so hard. They wanted to free me from this sickness. They kept on working and thinking on how they can earn a lot of money so that they can pay my operations and therapies. They forgot that I have other needs. They were so focused on earning money that they forgot that I needed them by my side. From that day, I tried to live on my own. I stopped myself from being close to other people. I detached myself from them.

He held the painting.

“Years passed and dad died. I saw how mom grief over his death. She was so depressed. I pitied her. I made a promise to myself that if ever I will fall in love, I will never make her cry and I will always stay by her side.”

He took a deep breath.

“After that I decided to stop my treatment to lighten up her burden. I worked so hard so that I can send my siblings to school and help her with our bills. I really forgot how to smile. That’s until I met you. You’re the one who brought back my smile, my life.”
“No… It’s not true…” she mumbled.
“I was so scared of being alone again that’s why I always try to be with you. I knew that there were times it seems I’m too possessive or overprotective. It is just I’m too scared too lose you. I don’t want to see you go. I just want to be with you. I don’t want to leave your side, but this sickness put me away from you.”
“It’s not true. You’re not Jhay. You’re Art, right?” she was trembling.

11:47 pm

He went to the piano and sat down.

“I’m sorry if I didn’t explain everything to you before. I was waiting for you to ask me about those things, but you didn’t. When I have finally decided to tell it to you, it was too late. I hope you understand.”

He started playing the piano. It was such a sweet melody. It was Jhay’s composition. He sang because he knew that it would make her happy even though he didn't have a good voice.

She was shocked. Tears started to fall from her eyes.

“It is… you…, Jhay… It… is really… you…”

He stopped.

“You recognize me now?”
“Yeah.”

She ran to him and tried to hug him. He was off-balanced and they fell on the floor. She kissed him on the lips.

“Why? Why are you still alive?”

Tears continue to run through her eyes. It was tears of joy. He hugged her so tight.

“The day I died, I saw St. Peter. He asked me if there is one final wish that I want before I go to heaven. I gave it a thought. I asked him how you were doing. He gave me a basin of water. I saw you there. You were crying. He told me that you were having so much pain because of my death. I told him that my final wish is I want to be with you again.”

He wiped her tears.

“He said that it is impossible. I begged him to grant that wish. He felt my sincerity and my love for you. He agreed but there were two conditions. First is that no one will recognize that I am Jhay. Everyone will think that I’m a new person and Jhay is already dead. That’s why I used the name Art.”

They both sat down on the floor.

“Ever since the day I lived again, I tried to be with. Giving my best effort, hoping that you will recognize me. But no matter what I do, still, you didn’t realize that it was all me from the start. But, thanks to that song, you finally see me. You realized that I’m still alive.”
“Jhay…”
“The second condition…”

He tried to stop his tears.

“The second condition… I can only live… I can only live for… for one hundred days… After that, I will vanish…”
“What? When is the 100th day?”
“Today. At twelve midnight.”

She looked at her watch. It says 11:57 pm.

“Jhay, why? This is so unfair. Why just now? Why do I have to realize it only until now?”
“Look Gel, I know we don’t have enough time. I want you to know that I love you so much. I came back to love you even more but now my time has come. Remember, I will always be there for you, by your side, even though you can’t see me. I will be always here. Always…”

She hugged him as tears run down through her cheeks.

“I’m so… sorry… Jhay if I… hurt you… I’m so sorry… I love you… too… I love… you so much… Jhay… Please stay… Don’t leave me… Please… Do… something…”

They hugged each other so tight as if they wouldn’t let go of each other.

“Jhay…” it was a whisper from above.

“He’s here. He’s calling me Gel…”
“Please… Stay… Don’t go…” she begged.

“Jhay… it is time to go…” and there was another whisper.

His body flew up. He was vanishing slowly.

“Jhay! Please stay!” she shouted.

They tried to reach each other.

“I love you Gel. I love you so much! Always remember I will always be there by your side…”
“Jhay…I LOVE YOU!”

It was twelve midnight.

And there was silence. All she can hear was the whisper of the cold night wind.

Then a loud cry was heard from the rooftop…

Nagmamahal,
Nanay at Tatay
